every.film respects the rights of copyright holders and handles copyright complaints under the notice-and-takedown procedures of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). When we receive a valid infringement notice for material on our services, we investigate promptly and remove or disable access to the material where appropriate.
1. Takedown notices
Before you file
Please first consider whether the material actually infringes your copyright — including whether its use could qualify as fair use (17 U.S.C. § 107). Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages under Section 512(f) of the DMCA. If you are unsure, consider seeking legal advice before filing.
What a notice must contain
To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or a representative list, if the notice covers multiple works).
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material, with enough information for us to locate it — ideally the exact URL(s) on every.film.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your contact information: name, company affiliation (if any), postal address, email address, and phone number if available.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next
We review every valid notice. If we remove or disable access to the material, we may also notify the user who posted it and provide them a copy of your notice. Where the material was ingested from an upstream data source, we remove our locally stored copies as well.
DMCA notices are for copyright complaints only. For other concerns — for example personal-data or privacy issues — please contact us through the appropriate channel instead.
2. Counter-notices
If material you posted was removed or disabled and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification — for example, because you had authorization from the copyright holder, its agent, or the law — you may submit a counter-notice.
To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), your counter-notice must include:
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which every.film may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.
- Your name, postal address, email address, and phone number.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward a copy to the original claimant. Unless the claimant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement, we may restore the removed material no less than 10 and no more than 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice.
3. Repeat infringers
We may suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. As a general rule, a user who is the subject of three or more valid takedown notices is treated as a repeat infringer, though we weigh all relevant circumstances before terminating an account.
Regardless of any account action we take, we reserve all legal and equitable remedies against infringers.
