While investigating noises in his house one balmy Texas night in 1989, Richard Dane puts a bullet in the brain of a low-life burglar. Although he’s hailed as a small-town hero, Dane soon finds himself fearing for his family’s safety when Freddy’s ex-con father rolls into town, hell-bent on revenge.

There’s a lot to admire in Cold in July, but its chief virtue is unpredictability. Most movies these days sleepwalk through their formulaic paces, but you’ll never guess where this one is going based on the way it begins.
The hidden pearl you didn't expect. A little good thriller with good suspence, great actors and an engaging soundtrack. A must see!
It is a brutal, beautifully shot movie that starts out to be about revenge but then becomes something more, something even more primal and disturbing.
