黑白片的质感好漂亮，墓地挖坟时背后的十字架，在教室偷大脑时墙上的光影，隐隐约约能看到欧洲超现实主义的影响。Maria形象再次出现，企图救赎被邪恶污染内心之人，怪人形象因此拥有了弧光，值得被人同情。科学所制造出来的不合时宜的生物需要被毁灭，老人抱着死去的女儿走过欢乐的街令人心碎，怪人与世人的对抗开始有了可以被反复拉扯的余地。双方都是在科学之下对压迫进行反抗，无关谁都谁错，有的只是永恒的焦虑。
