"We don't want to give anyone sleepless nights."

For Halloween 1992, the BBC decides to broadcast an investigation into the supernatural, hosted by TV chat-show legend Michael Parkinson. Parky (assisted by Mike Smith, Sarah Greene & Craig Charles) and a camera crew attempt to discover the truth behind the most haunted house in Britain. This ground-breaking live television experiment does not go as planned, however.

放弃所有传统定义的审美性美学追求以全情浸没电视直播的标准形式媒介拷贝，粗糙凌乱的镜头拼接巧妙隐藏起主创的诡计多端，因此最大程度的恐怖愉悦仅限即时收看原始放送的首批受众。其非电影的电影理念使得本片实质就是一盒封印了1992年大型公共恶作剧式伪灵异事件的实时录影带，现实著名主持人的坐镇也丝滑哄骗着被屏幕隔离于安全空间的观看目光的自愿怀疑悬置。惊悚体验的逐步升级构建被证明无需滥用廉价的具象鬼影，极度超前的闹鬼房屋、演播室对谈、街头采访和观众来电多维同步无限扩增了神秘不安氛围的持存在场，同时电波串联的守夜诱捕竟是变相献给邪恶存在一场盛大降灵会的创意更是领先行业数十年，连带自我批判地披露媒体和公众对都市怪谈穷追不舍的病态痴迷等同在创伤受害者的未愈旧疤之上复添新伤。

伪纪录电视直播，打破媒介的降灵会，整个在当时都很新颖。以及几句对英国刻板的讽刺。唯一不足铺垫实在太长，还有一些莫名的采访，可能想体现真实性吧！几个一晃而过的鬼影，虚假镜头更是高级，热成像可以被利用的更好。对后世恐怖片的影响无需多言，温导肯定是看过这个的

鸟鸟弗斯

可能在当时是很创新的电影了，现在看就有些没意思了，耳边一直回响glory hole。。。
