Star Chiyaan Vikram delivers a knockout three-pronged performance, but this cinematic bravura is offset by underdeveloped scripting, flatly one-dimensional villains and overdone lone-hero-vs.-swarms-of-murderous-attackers setpieces.

An revenge story with ostentatious visuals, euphonious musicals and flamboyant performance from the lead pair. Though inspired from the movies like Beauty and the Beast (1991) and The Hunchback Notre Dame (1996), Director Shankar and Cinematographer P. C. Sreeram made this movie an delighted treat with eye popping picturesque locations all over China and India. Vikram as 'Lee aka Lingesha' proved his mettle giving an topnotch performance of his career. His dedication is clearly visible in most of the scenes in the movie as he over weighted (242 pounds) and under weighted (132 pounds) for this character. Amy Jackson as 'Diya' gave her best performance where she appeared gorgeous especially in 'Beauty and the Beast Song'. Weta workshop and Rising Sun Pictures combined for the first time to deliver such a massive movie. 'Academy Award Winner' A. R Rehman steals the show with his melodies. Though screenplay lies flat, it is a kind of a movie which takes time to get applauded by the audience. It is worth trying to watch.

I is exuberant and unselfconscious but too cartoonish to engage your emotions. The onslaught of images and music will engage your senses, though, even as you’re left giggling at the too-muchness of it all.
