Jesus Revolution is more of a wistful wish to bring in a wave of new followers than an effort to understand what they'll need once they’re there.
Based on a true story. What follows isn’t exactly a memorable film, but somehow the story of three disillusioned, marginalised characters who create a new and wholesome form of faith has a certain something that keeps the viewer’s interest alive. Perfect for a low-key weekend.
It’s one of the most appealing faith-based big-screen entertainments in a while, polished and persuasive without getting too preachy.
