Discovered this gem by looking up high Metacritic score films, and it did not disappoint. Leave No Trace is a deeply emotional adventure-drama that focuses on a father-daughter duo living off the grid. The central conflict comes from the father's severe PTSD, which begins to hamper his daughter's ability to grow and integrate into normal society. Despite his trauma, his love for her is clear, and he has made her completely ready for the world—even if he isn't ready to face society himself. The screenplay is exceptionally written, opting for realistic character development over forced plot twists. The final scene is incredibly emotional, deep, and heartbreaking. The only minor flaw is that the pacing is somewhat slow for an adventure movie, but overall, it is a great, rewarding watch.
