Lost Bullet ended up being one of those movies where I kept hoping it would suddenly click… but it never really did. A straight 5/10 from me, and honestly that’s me being generous because at least the action scenes look **** basic story is actually promising — a guy framed for murder, a modified car that can prove his innocence, corrupt cops everywhere — but the movie never manages to make any of it feel exciting. The pacing is weirdly uneven. First half is all setup without much payoff, and when the payoff finally comes, it feels rushed and kind of empty. Even the big reveal about the car being the key evidence didn’t hit me the way it was supposed to. It’s like the movie expected me to feel hyped just because “car go fast.”And the villains… man, they’re so predictable. The corrupt officers literally act shady from the first second they show up, so when they turn on Lino, it’s impossible to care. The moment where he escapes custody should’ve been intense, but instead it felt like watching someone speedrun the “break out of jail” part of a video **** final chase — the one where he finally gets the bulletproof car back — is supposed to be the big moment, but I wasn’t invested. The movie tries really hard to make it emotional when he finally exposes the truth, but by then I just wanted it to be over. It’s not awful, just… bland. Like it’s checking boxes instead of telling a story.Overall, yeah, didn’t like it. Had potential but feels like a diet version of better action films. Fast cars, loud punches, and a whole lot of nothing behind it.
This impressively lean French thriller wastes nothing in its quest to deliver the goods.
