Role Play2023

The players are deft enough that a little more wit in the writing would have surely been well-served. (Nighy in particular makes much of relatively little.) And while briskly handled, none of the ideas here are fresh enough for Role Play to score points on narrative or character unpredictability.

Role Play is a bad movie. Positioned as a comedy action movie. But there is no good comedy here, the jokes are flat and not funny. In this regard, the film has nothing to surprise the viewer. Secondly, it's a mediocre action movie. Action scenes look faded, they are secondary. And the main thing is a torn installation. Action scenes don't just look stupid as usual and happen in movies of this genre, they're just poorly shot. So it turns out that Role Play has nothing to surprise. Everything you expect from him turned out badly. And what else is important in movies? Cast? Here he is average, the actors are trying to give away their best roles in their careers. Plot? Well, it's here, we need to somehow connect these terrible action scenes. Role Play is too secondary and mediocre to be recommended for viewing.

Role Play hardly spices up the subgenre with its saucy date-night games, never as action-packed as Mr. & Mrs. Smith or as sweetly sincere as the rom-com classics that inspire this undercover tale about finding that special someone worth killing over.
