Striking Distance is a solid adventure with just enough edge and mystery.

A cop watches a man dump something in the river and proceeds to empty 20 bullets into the air and 2 flares and blow up his **** from a boat on the river. The man gets away and is never spoken of again. Dont worry, the cop keeps his job and his hot female partner loves him all the more for it. Why is this called striking distance? By the end of the movie, what was the motivation of the killer? This film will be outdone quickly by modern ai slop masquerading as this kind of film.

If Striking Distance were a book, it could be called a good read. Instead, it's a painless watch.
