The Dreadful is worth watching for Harden’s perfidious performance alone. And whenever she’s not on-screen it’s worth the wait.
Great retelling of the classic Japanese horror fable and film “Onibaba” (1964)! The acting is excellent …chemistry between Sophie Turner and Kit Harington is excellent … great reunion film after “Game of Thrones” and Marcia Gay Harden is amazing … as always! Highly recommend!!!
Ultimately, Kermani's film is not strong enough to be called a complete success. Its lackluster ending and uneven characters weigh it down from potentially becoming a cult hit.
