The Ritual2017

While not exactly transcending the familiarity of its very predictable genre, The Ritual is a spooky, shadowy horror film with good character work, an excellent mood, some provocative themes, excellent lighting, and a scary... thing... that horror fans will love.

太平庸了，这可是2017年的作品啊，怪物场景，不如上世纪的极度深寒，不如这世纪的林中小屋（我随便举例的），开始森林加暴雨把气氛渲染的很好，结果后来越来越平庸了，同样是森林题材，鬼打墙的剧情就很棒。既然是四个人，导演也不会把握平衡，只看到了男主角的心理，当初没救朋友的愧疚，然后呢，最后也不像走出愧疚啊，几个狮吼功就让怪兽退缩了。结尾太敷衍了。还有啊，这种小成本恐怖电影，居然没有妹子，安排一两个不求大尺度戏只要漂亮小姐姐就行，来加入队伍，能让平凡的剧情变得耐看很多。

The Ritual is efficient and highly effective in its style, relying on sound, creepy production design, and the men's own fear and misjudgment to create the sense of pervasive doom. We don't see the monster in too much detail, leaving the mystery intact, but the creature design is stunningly original.
