After the defeat of Majin Buu, a powerful God of Destruction known as Beerus searches for the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. Realizing the threat Beerus poses to Earth, the Z-fighters must stop him. This has cosmic charm aplenty.
While I love Dragon Ball this film has many problems. They didn't really go into the scare factor that Beerus was supposed to have, Frieza got better treatment. I hate the idea that Goku absorbs the Saiyan god energy as it feels like an excuse to be like "yeah Goku is like mega strong" which is silly from a watcher and powerscaler's perspective. It does look better than the anime's adaptation as they took their time so that does give it's cake. I do want to see how the new adaptation works out so I rewatched this and it was good but had it's faults with story.
"Battle of Gods" delivers not only the familiar look but also the slapstick comedy, character interaction and over-the-top martial arts fights that "Dragon Ball" fans want and expect.
