At times suggesting an unholy fusion of an anything-goes musical telenovela like Glee or Cop Rock and an anti-hero drama built around a charismatic screw-up, the series is mesmerizing in part because it continues to exist and try new things despite being out there all by its lonesome.
The show has found its core, but it’s characters are still searching. Tragic in spurts but thoroughly entertaining throughout, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has carved out a very specific, satisfying piece of the TV pie.
Throw in a few dynamite song and dance numbers, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend feels just as joyful, courageous and ambitious as we left it.
Bloom’s ingenious anti-rom-com was one of last year’s best shows. It might be even better this year.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has only gotten better, more confident, and more consistent as it's moved along. It knows exactly who its heroine is, what she's good at and what makes her terrifying, just as well as it has very quickly and appealingly figured out how to turn any potential weaknesses into additional strengths.

With every viewing of this show I only adore it even more. The songs are funny and catchy and continue the story. Love the themes and story arcs.
Seasons 1 and 2 were excellent. I didn't connect with the last two seasons; they took the show to the bottom of the Mariana trench.
