Frasier (1993)

Whenever it sticks closely with the Crane brothers ... this likely final season of 'Frasier' often ranks with some of the series' best work.

One of the small miracles of Frasier is the way the show's high-strung, highbrow characters have managed to become mass-appeal favorites.

Boorish plus boring, Veronica's Closet hasn't benefited from the addition of Ron Silver to the cast. ... At this point, Closet seems beyond creative redemption, which is a pity, given [Kirstie] Alley's and [Wallace] Langham's comic talents.

One of the best things about the second season of Frasier is the way the series has come to mix its high and low humor.

So far, Martin and Daphne have been good for a few solid laughs per show,but the indispensable costar has proven to be Frasier's brother, Niles, played by David Hyde Pierce.

Situations are on target, characters are strong, the dialogue bright. Nothing's extraneous as director James Burrows keeps a tight rein on the brisk, smart exercise.

Frasier has been one of my favorite TV shows for a long time.. I've seen the whole series more times than I can count.. It's definitely a niche brand of humor that isn't for everyone.. but it's always good for a few laughs if I'm having a bad day and need some cheering up.

One of the best shows to come out since the end of the 80s. In some ways, it is better than Cheers. But Cheers had its day. Frasier never got old and never repeated the same scenario over and over. Every episode was a wonderful laugh. Eventually you feel like you can relate to at least one character. But with the humor there is also some serious storylines and the two always balance each other out. To go on for 11 years, same as it's predecessor Cheers, just shows how much it was loved and always had fresh material. Needless to say, if you don't like this show, you got issues with your sense of humor

The idea that people are giving Frasier a 79 on average is more about the fact that it isn't a low-brow show. Thus, it doesn't appeal to everyone; it's a brilliant, clever show with incredible chemistry among its cast, and the show is a simple concept, but it truly set the stage for some of the finest sitcom episodes ever made.

Another American sitcom I really like is Will and Grace. Both shows are really funny, but I like this show more. Kelsey Grammar, voice of Sideshow Bob in Simpsons and Vladmir in Anastasia is just superb as radio psychiatrist Frasier Crane, a man with his failures but has a heart that makes anyone warm to him. And he is surrounded by some truly talented comedy actors, especially David Hyde Pierce(who starred alongside Tim Curry in the fantastic stage musical Spamolot) as his brother Niles. I loved John Mahoney as the father, and Peri Gilpin as Roz. My favourites are Jane Leeves with her character's silly humour, and Moose(one talented animal) as Eddie, who got the most laughs as Martin Crane's staring dog. The script is intelligent, witty and cleverly-structured, and there is enough style and substance to make it memorable. And the song at the end is quite catchy. Although I am sad it ended in 2004, I am glad it got a decent ending. 10/10 for a gem on American television. Bethany Cox

This was a fun show. Very much a product of its time,but that's what makes it charming.

A good sitcom, but it isnt as good as said. Kelsey gramer is funny, but the rest of the cast isnt so

This show besides being a spinoff of Cheers, portrays a son and father living together in a Seattle apartment. It has many comedic and heart-warming moments that all add to the show's special tone. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched every episode on Netflix!
