Overall, these first two episodes do a nice job teasing some mysteries while putting character and comedy front and center. The action is solid, if not particularly superb, with the wine bottle fight as a highlight. But it’s the Yuletide joy that takes center stage here.
Hawkeye works because of the chemistry between Renner and Steinfeld, but also because it prioritizes character slightly more than action.
It’s not the most exciting, challenging thing you can experience, but it’s never going to disappoint you, with its warm and cozy feelings. And that warm and cozy feeling primarily comes from the chemistry between Clint and Kate. Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld are just fantastic together.
Hawkeye is modest in terms of threats and mythos compared to its MCU Disney+ predecessors, but it is nonetheless charming and full of heart. Hailee Steinfeld shines as Kate Bishop and will have many looking forward to her future at Marvel.
This is all in the name of torch-passing, handing off the role of Hawkeye from Renner to Steinfeld, and it's more exciting, one supposes, than doing it in a press release. But just like Hawkeye himself, nothing here feels essential.
The Marvel Cinematic/Streaming Universe will never stop expanding, and this latest chapter holds the promise of becoming a solid and entertaining addition to the canon.

A solid retirement and passing of the baton for the original Hawkeye. Clint had been a solid B-character throughout the MCU films and it was the perfect time for him to do a bow-out show with a new version, with his story and Black Widow's wrapped up. The show is set at Christmas, which we don't see enough of in the MCU, with Clint teaching Kate as they end up taking on a gang working for the Kingpin. As a big Daredevil fan, the Kingpin reveal was a great surprise and one that got me super hyped. I felt the threat level of the "Tracksuit Mafia" was well-done and appropriate. Easy for someone like Clint, but not so easy when you consider that he's training a complete hero noob, who has zero actual powers apart from good aim and the will to be a hero. Really solid show to be honest, no complaints, and I felt it did a solid setup of Kate and the Kingpin while being an emotional and satisfying end to the Clint Barton character.
Honestly my favorite marvel disney+ show that they have so far (Haven't finished loki season 2, secret invasion, or what if season 2) The characters are funny but still serious, my only problem was the villains, Maya was good but not great, kingpin was a waste, and I don't even remember the other guys name. Other than that it was really good
Why call the show Hawkeye when it's not even about him at all people came for him not for a D list sidekick no ones ever heard of.
Excellent TV show to binge. Best thing marvel haspht out in years. Showed a more personal and exciting side to a hero that went extremely under appreciated for years. Overall excellent watch thatalso introduced a new interesting character.

This show felt like the disney plus version of the marvel netflix shows. And that worked well for me it had a lot of likeable funny characters. Elaina and kate bishop had great chemistry. There was a lot of wasted potential with kingpen. They introduced him in the last episode and they just kind of had him punch some people and then he fake died. Also the show feels like the hole reason it starts is because a teenage girl made a dumb mistake.
Probably the best of the MCU Disney+ shows but that isn't saying much. Loved seeing Vincent D'Onofrio back as Kingpin though
An amazing view into Hawkeye's character, who had only been a support character. Explores his family, his mind, his relationship with Natasha... while also introducing new characters... and bringing back fan favorites.
This show is lighthearted, fun and perfect for the holidays. I appreciate Hawkeye getting more love and a more fleshed-out character. Kate is quite an interesting character and would be a fine member of the young avengers. Yelena is back and just as amazing as ever!!! The action scenes are pretty epic if you ask me but the fight choreography is just average. One thing I will complain about is Kingpin's character doesn't feel like a kingpin. He isn't cool, he is just some boring guy in the show. The plot is intriguing but overstated by the characters.
Too much female empowerment too little respectful treatment of Hawkeye and the story in general. Feels like the scripts lack some serious quality control. It is still somewhat enjoyable, the show has it moments and kinda reminds me of the first Die Hard movie. Some kudos for Florence Pugh, I really really like her, she plays Yelena with a sassyness that's amazing.
“Hawkeye” Season 1 is by far the best Marvel cinematic universe live action TV show to date. Some really impressive action scenes and an overall good story, but there is still a bit of wasted screen time trying to build some emotional core that could have been handled in a more fulfilling way.

Liked Kate Bishop and Clint Barton's dynamic in the show, however. I didn't really like how the show didn't have really any stakes.
Jeremy Renner performance is sublime while Hailee Steinfield is a really good addition to the MCU roster. While, the story itself is nothing out of this world and kind of standard, the main antagonist and her secret boss are a big problem, not to Hawkeye but to us, the viewers, because there is a lack of bad consecuences because of them. I would like to recognise that this show works the grief really well, and that's something important to underline. The series itself feels small compared to other MCU products, and with no impact in a short-term universe development.
