Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed2026

Many things work in Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed’s favor, distinguishing it from some of the duller comps in the past several years. (Apple TV’s leaden The Last Thing He Told Me immediately comes to mind.) Maslany is the first and most crucial.

Tatiana Maslany plays a mom who has an on-line “sexual” relationship with a handsome young man, but things quickly go wrong and she’s plunged into a perilous web blackmail, murder and more. Showrunner David Rosen has created a series that’s compelling from the first episode and he wisely keeps things twisting right up to the final shot. Maslany carries the show with empathetic skill, while other standouts include Dolly De Leon as the sassy detective and Charlie Hall as a mildly charming work friend (he also happens to be the son of Julia Louis-Dreyfus). There are spurts of violence, but more often the story is driven by confusion and paranoia, plus her mom soccer coach sideline. Actually, her custody battle and relationship with her sympathetic ex (Jake Johnson) adds an interesting personal angle that complicates matters even more. Taken all together, this is the smartest and most involving thriller of the **** far.

”Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” a 10-episode series on Apple TV created by David Rosen, is messy — the sloppy joe of streaming. And it is a lot of fun. The plot spills all over the side of the bun, into your lap and onto the floor. You’ll never enjoy cleaning up more.
