Shameless (2011)

Essentially, Shameless is still Shameless: A raucous, shocking, moral battleground, a family comedy taken to twisted extremes, boosted by a uniformly fine cast, and consistently entertaining.

Because the bond between them is so strong, all the show's disparate pieces - the filthy comedy and the desperation, the joy and the depression - hold together just as well.

If you want bold activities, high drama and laughs motivated by something other than fame, tune in for Season 2 of Shameless.

Almost nothing about this series is conventional. That's part of the appeal.

While there's a little something lost in translation, the show retains enough of the core of the original that--bolstered by strong performances from top to bottom--it's as good a remake as any import since "The Office."

Episodes, which got uproarious laughter in cut-down form at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in July, does not disappoint an ounce as it rolls through a seven-episode season. It also signals a savvy return to television for LeBlanc, who manages to be the butt of the joke one moment then hilariously likable the next.

The charm of the show--and of the Gallagher family--is in its anarchy.

Abbott makes sure the quirkiness of the Gallaghers is firmly rooted in three-dimensional, credible characterization. You never feel a bit of inauthenticity here.

Very entertaining, every episode is somewhat believable while being completely insane. Took me months to go through the whole thing but it was worth it.

It’s got solid performances and interesting characters, but it’s just wildly depressing. I’ve been told so many times that I’d love this show, but the “funny” parts just read like tragedy to me.

Starts to get worse in writing quality, humor, and struggles to find a protagonist to fill the void of Fiona, but at its best, theshow is funny, chaotic and showcases dysfunctional families extremely well. You see what the good in every character and also all their flaws making the show feel suprisingly real for the first couple of seasons.

Pretty good show. the main characters are almost all funny or likeable most of the time both. and its very entertaining to watch however the editing is quite odd, scenes will sometimes drag on for way too long or cut abruptly and the camera work isn't always the best quality. my biggest issue with the show is that their is too much pedophilia for my taste. almost every single character is either a pedophile or a minor who is sexualized by adult characters. its very gross and uncomfortable and i hope as i continue to watch the show this trend stops

It's an incredibly well-made show. Irreverent and over-the-top, but very fun and with some very deep, heart-warming (or heart-breaking) moments. It gets lost after a certain character's leave in Season 9. And while for one storyline, season 10 is still enjoyable, I highly discourage anyone from even trying to watch season 11. A waste of time.

Great show but after season 6 the quality drops immensely. I stopped watching after season 9 because I hated almost every character that much. The plot becomes both recycled and absolutely absurd, it's just sad what this great show became.

Does anyone realize that this show promotes pedophilia? The store owner Kash is a grown man having a sexual relationship with a child in the tenth grade!!! It's sick

This is a great show. A funny and entertaining look at poverty in America with great characters that develop a great deal over 11 seasons but not always in a good way. As the show gets in later seasons it becomes clear it lasted longer than the writers had intended as they experiment with plot lines that do not work at all (gay jesus plot).

Giving it a 9 only for the sake of the first seasons when it was an actual comedy show, the last seasons were purely political and dramatic which made it completely lose its essence. It was great during these past 8 years waiting for the new seasons, it's sad it ended especially in such bad terms.

Another great season but not as entertaining as the previous seasons. The writing was exceptional especially Lip beginning to have to deal with alcoholism and realizing he has a problem, getting to see Debbie as a mother and having to find a way to be a mother and have a normal teenage life, and Ian's continuous struggle with his bipolar. The character development was phenomenal especially with Lip, Carl, Ian, Fiona, Debbie, Sean, Frank, V, Svetlana, Tony, Mandy, and Kev. The acting was stupendous especially from Jeremy Allen White, Cameron Monaghan, Ethan Cutkosky, Emmy Rossum, Emma Kenney, William H. Macy, Isidora Goreshter, Steve Howey, Shanola Hampton, Dermot Mulroney, Sherilyn Fenn, Emma Greenwell, Steve Kazee, Tyler Jacob Moore, Kellen Michael, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Will Sasso, Nichole Bloom, and Ever Carradine. The chemistry as always was spectacular. This was another full of remarkable writing, character development, and acting but this season just wasn't as entertaining to me as the previous seasons were but it is still my favorite TV show of all time.

Not the best not the worst. This TV series had same good moments some bad. I think it's little bit above average but I think it's worth it to try.
