The story isn't as strong as either Leone or Corbucci's best work, but the iconic imagery and solid central performance from Nero make it easy to see why this became a worldwide success.

Perhaps the most influential Italian Western ever. Franco Nero with his coffin, a clear and rather anti-Western production by Sergio Corbucci, a fantastic soundtrack and lots of shoot-outs. Corbucci manages to pack 90 minutes with one memorable scene after another without making the film seem overcrowded.Unfortunately, I watched the English dub, which really isn't very good. There are also a few moments, especially after the first shoot-out, that don't quite fit into the flow of the film.

The first in a series of popular Django movies helped define the Italian tradition of spaghetti Westerns with a tormented antihero, extreme, sadistic levels of violence, and loud, heroic music.
